Invitation for an International Conference on Social Entrepreneurship (24th - 26th Nov 2006)

International conference on Social Entrepreneurship being held from 24th – 26th Nov 2006 at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.

The conference is being organised by UnLtd: The Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs, the Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

The conference aims to:

1) Celebrate social entrepreneurship as a tool for social change
2) Encourage the development of social entrepreneurship in India
3) Create mutually beneficial links between UK and Indian social entrepreneurs and institutions

We are looking at bringing together:

1) Social entrepreneurs from India, the UK and internationally to share ideas and experiences, to network and to learn from leading practitioners in the field
2) Agencies that support social entrepreneurs, academic institutions, funders from India and the UK to discuss ways to promote social entrepreneurship in India

The conference, planned to be the first of an annual series, will present a unique opportunity to interact with inspiring changemakers. We hope you will join us in the creation of a new wave of social entrepreneurs leading social change in India.

Please note that interested participants (especially overseas participants) will have the opportunity to stay on for a further two days (27th – 28th) for project visits to see some inspiring aspects of Indian social entrepreneurship in action.
